Interior inspired colour palette

From architecture to product

When I work on creating paper jewellery I often go back to my own photo archive for inspiration. I like to use my photos to create a colour palette for my designs.

By pixelating a photo I extract the basic hues that make up the image. Then I go about choosing the exact colours I want to use by keeping those that work well together for my design and eliminating the rest.

The arched ornate ceiling of a 19th century cafe lends its beauty to the creation of this subtle colour palette. The end product is a pair of asymmetrical earrings made with up cycled handmade paper beads.
