The Jacaranda tree colour palette
From nature to product
When I work on creating paper jewellery I often go back to my own photo archive for inspiration. I like to use my photos to create a colour palette for my designs.
By pixelating a photo I extract the basic hues that make up the image. Then I go about choosing the exact colours I want to use by keeping those that work well together for my design and eliminating the rest.
A photo of the beautiful purple blossoms of a jacaranda tree against a clear blue sky become the inspiration for the colour palette for a pair of paper earrings.
